Infusing sports retail with sustainability at adidas Berlin

Objective: Establish a new benchmark for adidas’ Flagship store design, in one of the world’s greenest & sportiest cities.

Adidas Berlin's renewed Flagship retail destination celebrates its power to set standards for sustainability and innovation in brand experience. As their lead global retail design agency, we collaborated with the adidas team to create a customer experience design that intertwines regional sports, sustainable retail design and brand experiences, like never before.

In the capital of the brand’s home country, we re-imagined adidas’ Flagship retail destination via experiential retail marketing, creative localisation and sustainable service design. For this creative retail interior design, we took Inspiration from Berlin’s design culture and the neighbourhood of Ku’damm, making the store the ultimate retail destination for Berlin’s locals and adidas’s community to engage and connect with the brand.

A dynamic customer experience design: upon entering, visitors are immediately immersed in the adidas brand via a digital campaign and activation space that showcases the brand's latest products.
In tune with the culture of Berlin: our retail interior design studio created a rotating Berlin sign to sit over the city shop, mimicking the iconic sign at the top of the local Zeitung landmark.

A connected brand experience design: our new Flagship retail destination integrates adidas' latest omni-channel services from RFID fitting rooms to QR code integrated visual merchandising.
Sustainably redesigned: our retail interior design concept introduced the brand's first Green Lab, elevating adidas' Maker Lab service into a sustainable brand space championing eco-creativity.
The collision of sustainability & brand experience design: The Green Lab was created to appeal to Berlin locals' eco-conscious mindset.
Sustainable to the core: our sustainable retail design concept uses biophilic design principles with luscious plant vitrines breaking up the space and purifying the air within the store.
In tune with lifestyle and culture: the Y-3 range can be found tucked away in the basement. The lounge-inspired retail interior design provides an intimate dwell space to escape the busyness of the store.
Next stop... Originals: Our brand experience design pays tribute to the neighbourhood of Ku’damm in Berlin, taking retail interior design cues from the city's famous U-Bahn subway.
