Award-winning, sustainable store concept for adidas Terrex
Objective: Develop adidas Terrex’s inaugural store concept, to lead the way in sustainable retail innovation.
Adidas TERREX is the athletic brand made for the outdoors. Capitalising on the record growth in outerwear category, we worked with adidas to launch this sub-brand’s first ever standalone retail concept and European Flagship, in the heart of Munich’s shopping district.
Utilising the latest omni-channel digital technologies, Terrex’s Flagship brand experience offers an unrivalled customer experience which goes beyond the standards for this category. From water refill stations to downloadable trail guides and interactive footwear walls to air purifying planting – every element is designed to be actively explored. Everything, from the retail interior design to the new in-store service destinations, is aimed at equipping and inspiring consumer’s next adventure.
Digital innovation wasn’t enough, we also wanted the interior design to have a positive impact. Our global retail design concept was purpose built and designed to set a new standard in sustainable retail design. Developing the spatial identity using biophilic interior design principles, our creative retail interior design concept achieved Platinum LEED-certified design status (it’s highest rating) and won the prestigious ‘Best Sustainable Store Design’ at the global retail design show, Euroshop 2023. The end result is a highly-sustainable store design with a dynamic and sensorial brand experience design which mirrors the beauty of nature and the innovativeness of the adidas TERREX brand.
