Looking Fly: GATEZERO’s new concept store lands in Frankfurt airport
Objective: Elevate GATEZERO’s retail experience with a premium new concept store, tailored to a new generation of cultural explorers redefining modern travel retail.
GATEZERO is no ordinary airport concept store. Operated by leading travel retailer Gebr. Heinemann, the brand is an experimental style platform created for fashion-forward global travellers. Those who define luxury less by status and more by cultural credibility.
That was the spark behind GATEZERO’s new concept store at Frankfurt Airport, created for the launch of its state-of-the-art Terminal 3. A sharper, more elevated retail experience for travellers who expect more than traditional duty free before they fly. Envisioned as a “portal to a world between worlds”, our design approach fused the design codes of air travel with the visual language of street style. Technical aviation, playful luxury and contemporary fashion culture come together through a sculptural spatial language that feels precise, progressive and tuned to a new luxury consumer.
At the entrance, a dark-framed gateway and oversized circular portal create instant intrigue, pulling travellers into the experience. Inside, polished surfaces, technical geometries and gallery-like product presentation establish a refined but energetic atmosphere. Across the store, fashion, sneakers, accessories and beauty are curated with clarity and focus. Brands including Acne Studios, Off-White, Comme des Garçons and Prada sit alongside pre-loved pieces and limited-edition drops - turning the store into a destination for rarity, relevance and what’s next.
Here, GATEZERO’s new concept store arrives not as another duty free shop, but a premium travel retail design for cultural explorers. A space built around curatorial confidence, and the thrill of unexpected discoveries en route.
